Dasja Pajkrt is a Professor of Viral Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Amsterdam University Medical Centers (Amsterdam UMC) location Academic Medical Center (AMC). She is Principal Investigator (PI) of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Together with Clinical Virologist Katja Wolthers, Dasja leads the research group OrganoVIR Labs, where clinicians, virologists and tissue engineers work together to develop innovative animal-free models for virus research. Dasja co-coordinates the GUTVIBRATIONS project and is the leader of Work Packages 7 (STACK) and 9 (EXPLOIT).
Within GUTVIBRATIONS, Dasja will also be supervising postdoctoral researchers Carlemi Calitz, Renata Vieira de Sa and research technician Eline Freeze.
Amsterdam University Medical Centers (Amsterdam UMC) is one of the foremost research institutions in the Netherlands and one of its largest hospitals, with 1500 staff members employed in medical research. The Amsterdam UMC research is organized in 7 themes within the AMC Research Institute, where AMC Principal Investigators (PIs) are appointed to develop their own research lines. The AMC Graduate School organizes doctorate level academic training of AMC PhD students (209 PhD rewarded in 2016).
