One of our Postdoctoral Researchers, Carlemi Calitz was recently featured in a video published by Thermo Fisher. Within GUTVIBRATIONS, Carlemi is involved in establishing a complex in-vitro gut-brain organoid model. Her focus lies on creating a gut epithelial-mesenchyme co-culture model which will be used for studying enteric viral infection and antiviral testing.

In the video, Calitz spoke about a moment in her life when she realized that her research in cell culture to advance the understanding of liver cancer was impactful. Watch the full video below.
