We Gathered in Gather Town

Last week, on the 4th of November 2022, our consortium virtually gathered for our first Periodic Review Meeting in Gather Town. During this meeting the progress that GUTVIBRATIONS has made so far was presented to our Project Officer and an external expert.

Gathering in Gather Town

Since our consortium members are spread all over Europe, Zoom meetings have become the new normal for virtual meetings and gatherings. Therefore, we thought that a special meeting such as our first Periodic Review Meeting should not be conducted like any other meeting.

This brought us to Gather Town, a creative and engaging virtual space for people to gather online. In Gather Town, we could personalize our avatars, talk to each other and move from one room to another. This way, members of our consortium could have a virtual meeting while still feeling as if we’re together in an in-person meeting.

Recap of our gathering

Much like how we would conduct our in-person meetings, we kicked off our virtual gathering with an opening presentation from our coordinator, Katja Wolthers. Towards the end of her presentation, Katja introduced our Project Officer, Oliver Loran who provided us information about lump sum projects and introduced the external expert Klaus Mathwig, who joined the meeting as a monitor.

Following the opening presentations and a quick coffee break, we reconvened in the presenting roomfor the second session of the meeting. During this session, the work package leaders presented on the progress that has been made in their work packages.

Towards the end of our virtual meeting, we gathered in the trivia room to play the GUTVIBRATIONS Secret Trivia. The trivia consisted of 20 personal questions that revealed quirky facts about members of the consortium. After the announcement of the winner and a closing speech by our coordinator Dasja Pajkrt, we finally closed our virtual meeting.

We look back on a great first Periodic Review meeting. We were elated to see the progress that we have made within each work package and it was a delight to virtually meet our Project Officer Oliver Loran and Klaus Mathwig. We look forward to hosting our next consortium in-person in the United Kingdom.
